Best way to wire batteries. Part 3

Busbars will make a battery rack run more efficiently. In part 2 we wired the rack of Jakiper batteries as a "daisy chain". We saw the wires were getting too hot in that setup. Now we re-wire the rack to a central busbar and re-run the load test. WOW! The results are amazing. 5% Discount code: DAVIDPOZ Jakiper (Orient Power) sent me some of the new "PRO" batteries for testing and review. This is Part 3 in the video series. This battery is part of the Jakiper line. Model# JK48V100PRO Server Rack design. The cell chemistry is LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) which is the leading chemistry for home storage. Each battery works with 48V equipment but is technically 51.2V nominal, 100Ah. This means you have 5.12kWh of capacity. There are 4 batteries in the rack. This makes a total of 20.48 kWh. Why do I think this is the best battery?

Why do I think this is the best battery?

Let's compare the features of these popular server rack batteries and determine which is best for off grid solar? One is the Jakiper Pro from Orient Power, and the other is LifePower4 from Signature Solar. LifePower4 battery from Signature Solar is my favorite for building up a large scale system. This is for people wanting to back-up their whole house, or go off grid completely. Combine 2 or more batteries inside the enclosed cabinet for a perfect setup. The 48V batteries from Signature Solar come in 2 versions, with or without a screen. I don't think the screen version is worth the extra cost if you plan to use a central shunt anyways. --------------------------------------------------- Signature Solar Affiliate Links: LifePower4 battery without a screen: https://signaturesolar.com/eg4-lifepower4-lithium-battery-48v-100ah/?ref=4_rHcgZ9x-TiF- EG4 battery with a screen: https://signaturesolar.com/eg4-ll-lithium-battery-48v-100ahd/?ref=4_rHcgZ9x-TiF- Server Rack cabinet with locking door, and copper busbars: https://signaturesolar.com/pre-assembled-eg4-enclosed-battery-rack-6-slot-wheels-included/?ref=4_rHcgZ9x-TiF- NEW! Wall hung Lithium Battery looks amazing! Powerwall style from Orient Power.

Wall hung Lithium Battery looks amazing! Powerwall style from Orient Power.

This battery is built like a tank! Orient Power sent me their new Powerwall style battery! It's a 51.2V (48V) LiFePO4 battery that will hang on the wall right next to your inverters. This will keep your floor free of large racks. The cell chemistry is LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) which is the leading chemistry for home storage. Each battery works with 48V equipment but is technically 51.2V nominal, 100Ah. This means you have 5.12kWh of capacity. I run through a series of tests and was happy with it's outcome. Yes, I was able to overload and shut down the battery, but that was pushing it past it's 100A rating. When staying below 100A, the battery worked as advertised. This is an excellent choice for small off grid solar systems where you don't need a full rack of batteries taking up floor space. Mounting a few of these on the wall will likely make for a cleaner installation on small off grid builds 5% Discount code: DAVIDPOZ Powerwall battery is the newest version and hangs on the wall if you don't have a lot of floor space.
